Classical Framework

Use your own phonics, math, history, science, literature, Latin, or writing resources while the site supplies a balanced classical rhythm, narration/copywork reminders, and records.

Cultural Literacy Companion

Use a grade-level cultural-literacy book or knowledge guide externally. The site gives you a weekly rhythm for reading, discussion, vocabulary, maps/timelines, science knowledge, and review without reproducing copyrighted content.

Christian Classical

Preschool / Pre-K is a complete 36-week gentle course without borrowing Kindergarten lessons. Kindergarten and Grade 1 each offer complete 36-week, 180-day built-in courses. The levels differ in developmental depth and pacing rather than completeness.

Outside publishers and authors are not affiliated with this project. Their books remain separate resources; this site stores your plan and original guidance.

Each lesson includes a goal, why it matters, parent preparation, a suggested way to present it, teaching steps, questions, hands-on work, and a simple mastery check.

Preschool / Pre-K: a complete 36-week gentle course built around short parent-led Bible, language, number-thinking, nature, movement, and practical-life blocks; Day 5 is optional. Kindergarten: a complete 36-week, 180-day built-in course. Grade 1: a complete 36-week, 180-day built-in course with daily parent guidance across Bible, reading/spelling, grammar/writing, mathematics, knowledge studies, and Latin.

Every built-in Kindergarten lesson now has an original matching printable available when paper helps. Use them for practice, narration, observation, or a family record—not as busywork. They are generated from our curriculum or your choices rather than copied from another curriculum.

For copyrighted Scripture translations, paste only the text your family is licensed or permitted to use. The app does not supply copyrighted Bible text.

Reading & handwriting path

Teach sound, print, meaning, and fluent reading together.

Kindergarten uses manuscript first: explicit phonics, dotted letter and numeral formation, cumulative decodable reading, narration, spelling from sound, and brief weekly checks. Cursive is available as a later or optional path, normally after manuscript is comfortable.

About the builder

Why this Parent Companion exists

Built by a father for family teaching.

Christian Classical Homeschool was created by Kurt Doughty, a father of four, nondenominational Christian preacher, and retired United States Marine. His final Marine Corps duty station was Marine Helicopter Squadron One—HMX-1, the Presidential Helicopter Squadron. He also studied electrical and robotics engineering at Indiana State University.

Kurt first built this companion for his own family. He wanted something that would help a parent sit down, open the Bible or lesson, and confidently teach the next day without turning the home into an institution or the parent into a record-keeping clerk.

Kurt and his wife have been married for more than seventeen years and are raising four children. This remains an independent, parent-built project—not an official publication of a congregation, school, denomination, the Marine Corps, HMX-1, or Indiana State University.

Authorship and review: Kurt is the principal author and maintainer of the built-in curriculum. Lessons are checked with automated coverage and phonics-sequence tests, Scripture and source audits, and independent code and content reviews. Those safeguards help find mistakes; they are not accreditation and do not replace a parent's judgment or direct reading of Scripture and sources.

About the builder

Built by a father for families who want to teach faithfully and honestly.

Christian Classical Homeschool was created by Kurt Doughty, a father of four, nondenominational Christian preacher, retired United States Marine, and former HMX-1 Marine. He studied electrical and robotics engineering at Indiana State University and has been married for more than seventeen years.

Kurt first built this companion for his own family: to help a parent open the Bible or lesson and confidently teach the next day without turning the home into an institution or the parent into a record-keeping clerk.

The curriculum distinguishes fact from inference, interpretation, tradition, and preference. It gives children worthy stories and a grateful love for home and country while refusing both false legends presented as fact and fashionable cynicism.

Current scope: Preschool / Pre-K has a complete 36-week gentle course, and Kindergarten and Grade 1 each have complete 36-week, 180-day built-in courses. Each level is written for its developmental stage.

Current access: There is no paid plan or subscription at this time. The Parent Companion will remain free throughout the current Kindergarten-completion pilot. If access or pricing changes after that season, families will receive plain notice before any paid plan begins; no family will be charged without choosing it.
